How to write song lyrics?

What the entry's title says. Does any of you write song lyrics (either recreationally and professionally)? What are your best resources on the topic? Of course, a Google search does the job, but I'm looking for trustworthy sources rather than general, blanket statements that merely assess the obvious. I intend to write metal lyrics during my pasttime.
