I didn't switch to Linux on this computer because Windows doesn't get too much on my nerves for now. No, the recurring issue is that I'm unable to activate my Office 365 license with my school email. It's not a problem with the license itself, I have it. After four days of battling with Office, calls and emails with the IT guy, trying to completely wipe it out from my computer (uninstalling it with Windows' control panel, deleting stuff on the Registry Editor, using SARA (Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant)), and restart from zero, I conclude that Office won. I'll have to poke Microsoft Support's butt about it (since it's a computer issue and not a license one). My guess is that I downloaded Office 2016 a year ago, made a personal Microsoft account, realised too late it wasn't free, said 'screw it', which is the root of the problem. Office doesn't like it when there are two Office versions on one computer. And to say I used Microsoft's software to cast it to the fire and destroy it. Imbecile Office, it's a situation where I'm Elrond and my computer is Isildur with the Ring.

I use LibreOffice because its superiority is crystal clear. I can save files as .docx files, but the layout can be a bit wonky sometimes. My profs are very anal about students submitting Word files, save for one prof that knew what LibreOffice was and accepted .odt files. I don't want to lose points because of minor layout defects, neither do I want to purchase another pc (which would be the only solution left--believe me, the technician and I tried whatever we could) for this cretin Microsoft issue. So, I'll submit two versions of my assignments: one in .docx to content my profs' hearts, and one in .odt to prove them the layout looks nice. They'll be warned of the issue and if they complain, they're welcome to purchase me a new pc!! No printed assignment, I do online/remote learning.

Damn, that makes me want to go back to Linux as an act of rebellion. And swear like a proper Québécois without excusing my French, but I don't want my mum and/or Captain America to scold me for my bad language.

Microsoft Office is Sauron.
